Different Types of Wedding Dresses

There are many styles of wedding dresses, but it is possible to classify them into 5 major categories: sheath dresses, Mermaid, Empire dresses, Princess dresses and dresses with Crinoline dresses.

Each form of dress to highlight or to erase areas of the body. Here’s a memo to help you choose the most flattering dress for your figure:

The sheath dress:

A line right, skin-tight, who marries the body, this style of dress lengthens the silhouette and is therefore particularly suitable for ‘small’ brides. Attention, however, she’s also relentless with small problems (saddlebags, tummy…) areas.

The Mermaid dress:

She marries the body up to the knees, then flares on a beautiful Corolla at the bottom. This form is ideal for slim brides but also suitable for those who have a little more forms and want to highlight.

Avoid for brides with voluptuous hips or a tummy.

A Variant: the trumpet dress that flares out from mid-thigh.

The Empire dress:

A cut in the chest that lengthens the silhouette.

A bottom which erase the unwanted areas as a bit pronounced hips, a thick size or a little short legs.

Attention: choose fluid fabrics like muslin for the bottom, such as lace dress. A taffeta (or another fabric too “rigid”) you crosssection instead to lie.

The princess dress:

A fitted bodice to the waist, then that gradually flares out to the ground, also known as A dress.

It fits most body types, especially in the more voluptuous figure because it lengthens and creates a slimming effect. For more Petite silhouettes, it gives the illusion of curves through his waist and flared hips.

The Crinoline dress:

Dress fairy tale, with a bodice adjusted to size and a very flared skirt.

It is best suited to large and slender brides and brides with pronounced hips.

Attention: small brides can be “overwritten” by this type of dress.

Finally, think about short dresses. They have the advantage to lengthen the silhouette.
